I have about 300 photographs (jpg) that I would like to insert into PPT 2003
blank slides. Is there a macro or another way to have PPT insert only one
photo in a each blank slide? My goal is to create a 300 slide slideshow
with some text in each, but it would be terrific if PPT could have it set up
with one photo in each slide.

Thanks!

David

David,
If you are using PPT 2002 or later, there is a built-in feature called the
Photo Album (Insert--> Picture--> New PhotoAlbum) which may meet your needs.
There are also some commercial add-ins that will do what you need.
Information on those is available from this PPT FAQ page:
BATCH IMPORT images into PowerPoint

(No connection with the company that makes it, but my favorite is Sham's
Image Importer Wizard. It will do exactly what you want.)

Sham should be Shyam - I hate OE's spellchecker!

Thank you, Kathryn! The feature in PPT 2003 is something I overlooked.

Thanks, again!

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello David,

PowerPoint 2000, 2002 and 2003 have a Photo Album feature that does exactly
this.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
include additional features and options for bulk inserting of images
(without having to resort to VBA or add-ins), don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
