Hi there

In Excel 2003, when I select Insert / Object/ Create from File, and browse to a simple Word file, it inserts into the Excel spreadsheet like it should, but only prints page 1. (It only print previews page 1 also)

Different Word files on different computers produce the same result. I am not linking the files. Any ideas? Thanks, Clare

That's the way it works.

Maybe you can teach the users to doubleclick on that embedded document and print
from there.

When I double-click to view the embedded doc, I can still only see, and print 1.5 pages. It tries to scroll down, briefly displays the rest of the doc, then bounces back to p.1 on its own. It's this way on all our pc's. Could it be a bug w/ 2003? Thanks, Clare

I use office xp (2002), so I'm not sure if it's a bug.

But I think I was wrong with my suggestion. I'm not sure if you could print the
whole word document as easily as I indicated.

I couldn't just double click on the document and print. xl2002 still wanted to
print the worksheet--not the document.

But I could rightclick on it and choose
document Object|Open

And print from there.

(I actually did a print preview to see it.)

Maybe you could teach this method--which may even work for you. (But I'm not
sure why you have the other problem.)

Dave, do you know of a source of information stating that the bahavior
Clare is describing is by design?

Thanks,

David.

that embedded word documents only show one page?

No, I don't. But that's the way it's worked for me (and others who have replied
to similar posts).
