Insert / Symbol

I use two computers with Windows2000 and Excel 2000. One
gives me the option to Insert a Symbol in a cell. The
other computer requires a somewhat tedious, frustrating
and exasperating procedure of opening the Character Map
from Program Files/Accessories/Sytem Tools/Character Map.

I have not able to learn how to get the Character Map
installed in the Insert menu as it is on the 'other'
computer.

Help and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Any chance you're using Chip Pearson's addin:

Look for Symbolize

Chip has another neat utility called CellView that can tell you what's in the
cell:
(look for cell view on the same page)
