How can I add the ability to insert images?

I have a form that asks for 'name' 'address', etc. and I want to be able to add an image to that record...how do I set it up so that I can link, etc. to an image?

The sample imaging databases at http://accdevel.tripod.com illustrate three
approaches to handling images in Access, and the download includes an
article discussing considerations in choosing an approach. Two of the
approaches do not use OLE Objects and, thus, avoid the database bloat, and
some other problems, associated with images in OLE Objects.

If you are printing the images in reports, to avoid memory leakage, you
should also see MVP Stephen Lebans' http://www.lebans.com/printfailures.htm.
PrintFailure.zip is an Access97 MDB containing a report that fails during
the Access formatting process prior to being spooled to the Printer Driver.
This MDB also contains code showing how to convert the contents of the Image
control to a Bitmap file prior to printing. This helps alleviate the "Out of
Memory" error that can popup when printing image intensive reports.

Thank you.

I am having difficulty with the example. I can input the data and the results appear in the 'Form', however, I cannot merge them into a Word document. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm not sure it's possible to merge images with Word documents.

(You didn't mention anything about Word in your question...)

You are correct, I did not. Darn, I was hoping there was a way...thank you for your posts in any event, they were greatly appreciated.

Your statements are not correct in the least. Access can load whatever
file formats are supported by the currently installed Office Graphics
filters. In can also natively load BMP, EMF and WMF formats.

If you are using a Frame control to display OLE inserted images then the
file formats that are supported are completely dependant on the Image
program you choose to use as your OLE server and currently have
registered for each type of Image format.

I had this problem initially when designing my database. Access does not
accept (for viewing) JPEG images which is still the smallest format. I
insert an object (image) as a microsoft clipart art image which shows for
viewing and printing and after many hours of testing all formats is the
smallest that Access accepts. Give it a go.
