Insert Picture from File

PowerPoint will not allow me to insert a jpg file. The
option to insert a picture from a file is there
under "Insert", but it is not active. How do I activate
this option. I am running Windows 2000 Professional.

What view are you in? If you're in slide sorter view and possibly others,
that option will be grayed out/unavailable.

Choose View, Normal or View Slide (depending on your version of
PowerPoint -- which version is it, by the way?)

Then try it again.
