In my PowerPoint file, I would like to show Page Number in the format of
2/12, when 2 is the # of slide and 12 is the total number of slides. However,
instead of manually input the total number of slide ("12"), I would like it
to be automatically generated. How can I do that?

Thanks,

Alan

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried this add-in file. It works. I have the following questions:

1. How can I open this file to change teh coding so that I can change the
form of showing the page [for example, instead of showing "Slide 1 (of 12)",
I would like to have "1/12"]
2. This add-in does not support dynamic update after adding/deleting a slide
and the user needs to press a button so that the add-in will update the page
number. Is there other programs that support dynamic update [update the page
number and total number of page right away after adding/deleting a slide]?

Thanks,

Alan

Alan,
I would suggest contacting Bill D directly via the link on his site. I know
he will pop in here when he has time, but those sound like very specific
questions that only he would be able to answer.

Hi Alan,
I have the same question re: the slide number format.
Did you follow up with Bill D on this issue?

Your help (and Bill's) would be appreciated.

I don't understand that Microsoft 'forgot' this opportunity in the new
version 2007. You can do it in Word even in previous versions, but not in
ppt! Perhaps the developpers don't use ppt? But a lot of people do! And for
presentations it should be a 'must': than you can easyly see how many slides
you can expect after some time.
So: where are the developpers of ppt??? Can they explain why they 'forgot'
it? Can they just ask there colleagues of Word how they did it?
