insert from command

how can i turn on the insert function when typing on the
command line? instead of inserting it types over. just a
minor annoyance...

Properties, Options, Insert mode
to change the default action.

To ensure it stays in insert mode, right click on the OS title bar and
choose properties. Under options/edit options, check insert mode.

And when you exit tell it to "Apply to shortcut that launched
this program" (not just this instance.)
