insert dvd into dvd drive and it does nothing

Did you burn the image to a DVD properly instead of just copying the file?
Do you have your computer set to boot from the DVD drive first? Did you
check the file you downloaded with an MD5 checksum hash verification tool?
Did you burn the DVD at the lowest possible speed? Did you use compatible
DVD media? Did you check the DVD for accuracy after you burned it?

A little more detail would be appropriate.
