Is there, by any chance, any key combination to insert the current date and
time, in a similar way that you can by pressing F5 in Notepad?

you can show the last modified time stamp in the status field of notes
(tools, options, other tab, advanced options - when showing notes, show time
and date in the appearance section)

outlook doesn't provide a way to insert the date in a note other wise - I
use activewords to insert it as I learned not to trust the date stamp
because it often got messed up when syncing with a pda.

Those seem to display by default, but the date keeps changing everytime the
note is edited. That's not good for what I am using them for.

I was hoping there would be a macro that could be used in Notes. I found
that other people have been asking for the same thing, and I came across
ShortKeys Lite. I think it could be useful for me in other areas, like
command line.

That is very similar to activewords. There is at least one other windows
utility that offers similar features, but I can never recall the name.
