Just got new computer with XP Pro & Office 2003 basic, working with Exchange Server 2000

In Word when using the address book to insert name and address in document (or in envelopes & labels) all I get inserted is the name, no address

This function used to work like a charm in Word 2000

Thanks

Bob:

While I can't answer your question, I'm using Windows and Word 2000, and have been unable to do what you say worked like a charm in Word 2000. Could you please let me know the steps you to previously to insert an address into your documents.

If you would prefer to continue this discussion by direct e-mail, let me know, and I will provide my e-mail, and or phone number.

Please see my other posts regarding this issue in this same forum.

Thanks,

Dave

Well, the first thing to check would be whether you have an AddressLayout Autotext
entry that's affctingthe address layout.

If you haven't, I'd try asking this in an Outlook newsgroup, as the functionality
originates with Outlook/Exchange and Outlook people usually have a better idea
what might be wrong :-)

Since my orginal message I have noted some finer distinctions going on

The function insert address only works correctly if there is only 1 address in Oultook and it is in the business address fields. If this is true, I get the name and full address (street, city, state, and zip)

If there are more than one address in Outlook, such as a business address and a home address, insert address only will insert the name of the contact

Hope that helps define my problem

Thanks

Cindy,

I have that autotext entry as follows
{<PR_GIVEN_NAME><PR_SURNAME>
}{<PR_COMPANY_NAME>
}{<PR_POSTAL_ADDRESS>}

This is correctly insertingthe name and address of those contacts that have only 1 address that is the business address.

If Outlook has only a home address or a home and business address, only the name is inserted.

Thanks,

Bob L

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Qm9iIEw=?=,

In this case, you need to ask in an OUTLOOK newsgroup. Be sure to tell them which
version of Outlook you have nistalled, and in which version of Outlook this
Contacts file was created. I know there used to be problems with theis
functionality with "Home" addresses. I think it was fixed, in the meantime, but
Contact folders from older versions of Outlook may need remedial attention.
