Insert a static date from the ribbon

How does one add a static date using the Insert Date on the ribbon instead of
one that changes every day you open the document? I know about Inserting the
CreateDate fiels using QuickParts but that's a lot of extra steps.

When you click "Date & Time" in the dialog that opens uncheck "update
automatically."

Well, that was simple. I guess I just ddn't realize what that meant exactly.
