insert a recorded sound

I am using PP 2003 on Windows XP.

I would like to insert some recorded sounds. When I go to ACCESSORIES,
ENTERTAINMENT, SOUND RECORDER, I can record a sound and later insert it into
PP but there seems to be a 60 second limit on the sound clip. If I go to
PP, INSERT, MOVIES AND SOUNDS, RECORD SOUND, does that 60 second limit still
exist? (I am not on my normal computer now and am not in a position to
check but I would like to get the answer as soon as I can so I can pass it
on to a friend)

TIA

Sound recorder has a limit of 60 seconds. However, you can record your
sound, save it, reopen it, and edit it allowing another 60 seconds.
Honestly? There are many better and free recorders out there.

Thank you.

Can you recommend one or two of the free and better sound recorders?

Thanks.
