How can I insert a character, say an "z" embedded by a circle in a word
Hi Turk,
Large Unicode fonts have characters for all small and capital letters (and
numbers) enclosed in a circle.
For a circled small z, type 24E9 followed by Ctrl+X (assuming you have an
English Word2003).
For more, choose a large font such as "Arial Unicode MS", and look in the
subset "Enclosed Alphanumerics".
You could also use eq fields to superimpose a circle and a small z, but it's
a lot of bother to correctly size and position the two characters.
{eq \o\ac(O,z)} (using, say, U+25CB or U+25EF as the circle)
Greetings,
Klaus
