Inporting DV

When I start to Copy the DV from the camera to my hard drive it starts out
fine then freezes 2-10min into the transfer the camera carries on running,can
anyone help

Could be a lot of different things:
1) Possibly a bad firewire cable or card
Swap cables and cards and/or cameras with a friend to try to determine
if your card or cable are bad.
2) Is your harddrive formatted FAT32 or NTFS? FAT32 drives have a 4gb max
filesize limit.
