Hello,

I can't belive how easy this should be but it's not. I am
trying to import a very large list from Excel into Access.
I am running Windows XP Pro, along with Excel 2002 and
Access 2002. I downloaded the Excel 2002 Add-in: Access
Links from the Microsoft site but it does not appear to be
supported.

I still am unable to convert an Excel list to an Access
database.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

can you link to the xl file.
sometime importing is not necessary when all you need is
access to the data. links files with do that.

Hi Rachel,

Normally this is pretty straightforward: just open up your Access
database (or create a new empty one if necessary), and then use the
File|Get External Data|Import menu command.

If the data you want to import doesn't start at cell A1 of the worksheet
it's on, things are a little more complicated; perhaps the simplest
approach is to open the worksheet in Excel, define the cells containing
the list as a named range (Insert|Name|Define), and save the workbook.
Then import into Access as above.

Alternatively, save the list from Excel as a CSV file, and then import
that into Access.

If none of these works, please post back here with more information on
the "list" and what you want to do with it.
