Inkscape <http://www.inkscape.org/>

Anyone have any success running Inkscape on Win98se?

I [almost] get a start-up splash-screen but then it bombs with an error
about loading MSVCRT.DLL

I've been trying unsuccessfully to locate in the docs and online, info on
System requirements for Inkscape.

Sodipodi runs OK on my current setup.

Have you made sure you have the file (it's the MS C Runtime Library)
and if not, did you download it (from for instance
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcrt)?

Thanks, yes I had that file already, DL'd from dll-files.com - I even went
to the extent of placing it into the same directory as Inkscape to see if
it would make any difference, but sadly no, I get the same error no matter
where the DLL resides.

Are you saying that Inkscape *is* capable of running under Win98se?

No, I don't run 98se so I wouldn't know... But I know some programs require
certain DLL's on the system in order to function properly... Thought that
might've been the case here too, sorry...

You might want to try an autobuild of the Windows port of Inkscape, found
here: http://troi.hous.es3.titan.com/~rjamison/inkscape/builds/

Sorry I can't be of any more help,
