Have you tried the same paper with Canon inks?

Many cheap photo papers have an olive-green cast with beading in the
shadows with Canon inks, if you use "photo paper" settings in the
driver; with such papers, you need to set the driver to "plain paper",
and manually set the resolution to the highest, and use diffusion
dithering.

Hi,

I also use a canon s9000 for two+ years.

I use the refillable ink from inkgirl.com with GREAT results. Good color
matching and I have not a complaint from fading colors. (I have a sheet that
goes with each framed and matted print that tells the new owner to 'keep out
of direct sun, smoke free area, etc....) It seems to be working.... I also
have a 'replacement if faded (subject to my opinion) - but have never needed
to use it... (so far) :>))

At times, I also get an 'off cast' from one color or another, usually to the
green side also.

I have cleared this up by removing the printer head and all the tanks
(taping the tank outlets with black electrical tape) and washing (very
carefully) the printer head assembly with Windex (in the spray bottle)

Spray (stream) the screen of each color and then turn the head over and
spray INTO the printer head nozzles until all the ink is washed out -

- - this cleans the screen - which will/may fill up over time and usage (I
use about 3 16oz bottles of each color per year - a LOT of photo and other
printing). This 'filling up' restricts the ink flow and that will allow
un-even mixing of the colors.....IMHO that is...

After that cleaning, I get all new Canon colors ( 6) - install them, deep
clean 2-3 times and off to print. I refill these as needed until they act
up.... It works for me - YMMV...

Hope this helps - JOhn b
