Inks for the R800/1800

Has anyone been using any other comparable inks in R800/1800 printers?

I'm finding the OEM inks are costing heaps. But I still want to retain
the archival properties of the original inks. or even using a CIS with it.

Seems typical that there out of stock for the magenta and cyan these
are the two that are used at a greater rate than any of the others.

most people I read about use their cis with inks from bought from here:

Although weink makes a cis for the R800 the inkrepublic one is less
expensive.
