Hi folks,

I found that about a half drop of household ammonia , induction- fed
into the cartridge using a hatpin, does wonders to a cartridge and
printhead! If not successful the first try, I do it again.

But, with my new Epson C-86, I want to start off right, by printing a
test page every two weeks if I had not used my printer for at least
that length of time. Does anyone have any info as to what would be
included in a test page? I want to type one up in WORD, and simply
print it. Must it be a combo of graphics and Text? Text alone? Etc?

Thanks, for the great help, as always without any editorializing;

comments, because they feel secure behind their PC. My professor used

Thanx again, Mike

DID IT EVER OCCUR TO YOU TO FIND A PAGE ON THE WEB AND PRINT THAT. WHY
REINVENT THE WHEEL.

Simply-
Draw some circles or squares in MS word fill with colour add a bit o
text or as measekite suggested

It's just a matter of getting all nozzles firing

For the past 6 months I have stored my cartridge/printheads in a small
tupperware container with a damp sponge. So far I have had no clogged jets.
They work like brand new every time I use them.

Hi
Can you explain a little more detail how you introduce the ammonia into the
heads. This seems a fine idea but I do not want to make an error.
Cheers

Sure...Take a needle or a hatpin , dip it in household ammonia and then let it drain off the needlesinto the cartridge. If your carttridge has a valve and most do, dimply press on the needle a little to lowere the valve and the ammonia will drip into the cartridge. Gis a little shake, not much, and reinsert the cartridge. The ammonia helps clean the printheads. Mike

Clever, but could you increase the cleverness by putting the damp sponge
inside the
printer near the carts? Or would that rust important metal parts? Do you
store the
carts after each job, day or what?

Please email, post.
