Hi,

I have just bought an ink jet refilling kit (JR universal) and am filling
the Epson C44ux cartridges, but on the instructions it says after re-filling
do not seal the re-fill holes and let stand for 24 hours. But do I use the
little rubber grommets to seal the holes when I come to install the
cartridges or not? After all, the holes were sealed in the original state.

Thanks.

The insert grommets are used when you put the cartridge into the printer.
They are suggesting you leave it for a period of hours to let any
micro-bubbles leech out. That can be an optimistic idea because microfoam
does tend to hang on to those bubbles for dear life.
That's why some adventurous types adopt the swing em out routine.
A plastic bag or maybe two - cartridge inside, go outside and give it the
whirl around the windmill treatment. Have ready excuses for the neighbours:
such as "No I'm not mad at the wife."

I have heard a Nun who was talking to a young girl playing with a necklace
of pearls say, " do you know God is everywhere. Quite possibly a little
angel is inside each of those pearls."
Watching the departing Nun with a puzzled frown the yougster then whistled
the pearls around at a frantic hand blurring speed. Then she exclaimed, " So
guys, are you dizzy yet ?"

If memory serves me correctly, you'll need to resert the chip in those
cartridges too
