Ink problems

Hey I have a Espon stylus C60 and it ran out of ink, so i
bought a new ink cartridge for it, but it still says it
is out of ink....the red light is still on..i bought the
right one and everything...my friend who is good with
computers doesnt 'know what the problem is either....so
if anyone has any ideas to why it is malfunctioning...any
help is appreciated.

Before you installed the cartridge, did you peel off the
plastic tape that covers the bottom???
