Im totally frustrated. My Epson C40UX will not print more
than one page before its totally faded and unreadable. I
have cleaned the ink cartridge repeatedly, cleaned heads
and nozzles and it still does it . Over the last few days
Ive gone thru lots of troubleshooting menus and nothing
helps .Ive turned it off and gone away come back and still
can only get one page. Is my next choice a whole new
cartridge but this one is brand new!! Help please Helen

Just as a guess, having been an Epson owner in the past, does this model use
the printer cartridges the plastic on the top that you have to tear part of
open? If so, did you remember to tear the part off that's supposed to be?
Did you pull the whole thing off? If it is that style cartridge, and you
have pulled the entire label off the top, not just the part that is supposed
to be removed), I would recommend replacing the cartridge immediately,
otherwise you risk clogging the print head completely, which can be an
expensive repair.

Another factor to take into consideration is the type of printing you've
been doing. Most cartridges will last a long time just printing text, but
printing photos can easily take more than 20 times the amount of ink as is
used printing text, and will run the cartridge down very quickly. With some
of the Epson cartiridges you can hold them up to light and see the ink
levels. It's been a while since I've owned an Epson though, so I don't know
if that's still the case.

If neither of those apply, your best bet is to contact Epson directly. I
would do so soon, otherwise you may be in a situation where you risk
clogging the print head.
