Ink cart country of origin

Those who worry about ink and cartridges coming from foreign countries,
especially Asian countries, should take note: HP isn't concerned. I have
here two genuine HP ink carts, a #56 and a #57. The 56 is from a
two-cart pack where I've used the 57 cart already. The 56 cart package
is plainly marked, "Product of Ireland." The 57 cart is a more recent
purchase, to wait as backup. It is also plainly marked - "Product of
Singapore."

Personally, I don't have any fear of Asian products. You're really
shooting at China I suppose. All my computer components are Chinese
and they never fail on me and are on 12 hours per day sometimes. I
refill everything so I never purchase a new ink cartridge. If I had to
pay $35 for 9ml of ink, I would feel like I got screwed no matter
where it came from.

So there are some who will exchange quality and safety for money.

Much of the chinese computer products come from Nationalist China and some
of those companies have plants in red china but maintain close quality
control over their name brands.

With off brands one never knows.

You do all the fear so there is none left for me to fear.

You misunderstand. I couldn't care less where my ink comes from. All I
want is for it to squirt out onto the paper and last long enough to suit
my purpose, which may be immediate, or might be for storage in a
filedrawer. I also would rather it didn't cost all my limbs per
cartridge. This particular 57 cartridge was purchased on Ebay, and was
stale-dated and about half-price. The cost was about the same as most
"remanufactured" carts. I intend to refill it until it doesn't work any
more.

My post was aimed at Measekite, who has a morbid fear of anything even
remotely Chinese. I wanted him to know that HP doesn't think all
oriental stuff is bad.

That is a stupid statement. I just bought a Brother Labeler made in China
so where is the fear.

You should watch your mouth.

I refer you to the following, which you posted earlier in this thread
(in reply to the first line, which was from another poster):

Sounds like fear to me. There's no need to fear Chinese ink, name-brand
or otherwise. Unless, of course, you plan to *drink* it.

And I typed nothing that needs to be "watched."

You just can't believe what most manufactures say these days, or if you
Google around then you may find that there are better and more expensive ink
than the original, and some companies claim their inks and papers will last
for 100-200 years etc.

About the ink, remanufactured means they refill the original cartridge
with their own ink, so it's prettu much similar to most people refill at
home except they do a much cleaner job, and no drilling etc.

And back to the refill, if you GOOGLE around then you may find that many
online stores selling the foamless ink cartridge for very reasonable price.
Or you can find a (6) cartridge set with ACR for around $20-25 (less for
fewer cartridge) and since the cartridge has no foam you can refill as many
time as you wish when the one with foam often last between 3-5 refills.

And there are tons of refillable ink cartridge for Epson, Canon, HP etc..
