Ininstalling Fonts

Since I make Stationery and Sig Tags, I have a huge
collection of fonts. I have a lot of them that I don't
want to delete, I just want to uninstall them. Then in
the future if I wish to use one in a Stat all I have to
do is open it and leave it open while I make my project
and then close it when I am done and it doesn't have to
be installed that way. I could find nothing in the XP
Home Edition on how to uninstall Fonts. I e-mailed HP
and was told that all I have to do is move the ones that
I wish to uninstall out of the Window's Font folder into
a folder in "My Document" and that would uninstall them.
This seems rather strange to me. Has anyone used this
method to uninstall fonts or is there some other way that
it should be done?
