Inheritable permissions keeps unticking

I have an OU that has a number of users and groups in it. about 5 of
the users in this group are not inheriting permissions from above. If
I go and tick the inherit permissions tck box it ticks ok and
permissions are inherited.

An hour later the tick is gone again

Any idea
