InfraRed problem

Hi,
I have just bought a new laptop with XP Home SP1,
networking to the office and home networks is working
fine, today I downloaded all the critical updates and all
the essential updates from the Microsoft website, I went
to use the infrared port to synchronise my outlook
calendar to my mobile (Nokia 6310i, using Nokia suite 4).
When I place my mobile facing my laptop IR port, the
wireless icon does not appear in the tray, and when I go
into control panel and double click on the wireless link
icon, nothing happens.

Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted
