Hi, I don't know what Port number I am supposed to enter
in the Windows Firewall Execeptions window. What is this
port called?
Also since installing SP2, the speakers on my PC don't
work. How do I turn them back on?
Thanks, Scott

I have the same problem. I even rolled back the SP2 installation but my irda
stays unfunctional. It used to work propely before SP2. I have inrared
monitor service up and running. My phone which I use for other infrared
device is functioning with another computer.

Hallo there,

thats not true. I've read the article and my firewall is complete turned
off, even the windows xp firewall. The infrared port is properly installed.
Could you give me a solution.
thx
Nick

I have the same problem. The Infrared Device item in Device Manager was
disappeared. I tried to reinstall the OEM driver but this item appeared only
in few second then disappeared again. The Infrared Monitor service is running
but SMSC Fast Infrared Miniport Driver (smcirda.sys) was stopped (the System
Info informs that). I also tried to recovery my laptop using OEM recovering
DVD but this problem still exists. How to solve this problem?
