I have just been give a Dell Latitude C400 laptop which only has one USB
port. I wish to use a mouse with it as I don't like track pads and do not
want to use my only USB port or use a hub. The laptop has an infrared port.
Do infrared mice exist and are they reliable enough to use?
Thanks

Do you have bluetooth on it? I do on my Inspiron 6000 and those mice
can be found.

I do not believe there is such a thing - nor would I think it would be very
reliable.

Just get a USB hub. Then you can make the one USB port into 2, 3, 4...

There is a nine pin serial port on the back. You could
try and find a serial mouse.

They're hard to find, but I can still see mention of serial mice.
I have one around here somewhere, probably in the junk closet.

Since the laptop also has a PCMCIA slot, a USB card could probably
be plugged in there.
