Infrared enabled but giving a "code 10" error

My infrared port on my Dell laptop is not working. It is
enabled but says it is not working properly and gives me
a "code 10" error.

I need it to sync my cell phone address book for back-up.
I just had a new motherboard installed and it must have
diabled the IR port.

How do I fix this? HElp anyone?

If you swapped the MB out from under Windows 2000, check the BIOS
settings for COM port assigned to IR. At boot time very first screen the
DEL key will get you in.
