This is just plain odd. http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2409788?htv=12&htv=12
using this movie as an example or pick your own. It's the mean people suck
movie [8 minutes total], R rated or higher.

I've been seeing this on many sites lately, maybe on every site that posts a
windows explorer movie, Can't recall. All I know is that all the colors are
reversed ie: blue = red red = green etc.. Don't really know if the movies are
sharp or not, they look like something done with a box of crayons and no lines
to paint in.

I have SP 2 installed and on at 56k.

And maybe some more info I just found another of those empty dxva_sig.txt files
on my desktop.
It would seem that maybe the 2 events [a failed windows media movie] and the
empty text file are related somehow.
Can anyone else tell me how to fix these online rotten colored movies ? I'm
thinking that may clear up the empty txt files written to the desktop also.

Go to the manufacturer's website of your videocard and download the
latest drivers that are compatible with XP(SP2). Yours may be outdated
due to the upgrade to SP2.

Did you check their online Help FAQ? The FAQ item entitled "Windows Media
Player screen is green with pink, wavy lines." sounds close to what you
describe.

Other than that, not sure. Works OK here, but I'm using WMP 10. Have you
tried the WMP Help/Check for updates option yet?

probably reverted to 9 with my last rollback. We'll see if this back to 10 does
the trick.

Fix for this and the 0 byte dxva_sig.txt file getting written [to my desktop,
others claimed it got written elsewhere.] was to upgrade to win media 10.
