These two are very old, but I've never seen them mentioned
InfoTip Extension Version 2.0.4.106 326 kb
"InfoTip Extension" is a shell extension for MSIE4.0 or later. InfoTip
is
a new shell feature that was introduced by MSIE4.0. The small window
that
appears when you point the Mouse Cursor at "My Computer",
"Network Neighbourhood" or "Recycle Bin". "InfoTip Extension" adds this
InfoTip feature to files that are not supported by MSIE.
You just need to point at file, if you want to view it's information.
ZipTip Version 0.0.1.4 (alpha) 247 kb
InfoTip Extension for Zip File
No need to launch a separate program to see the readme file, just a
single left click on the zip file and the readme file opens in the left
pane of explorer. If no readme file is present, then the contents in
the zip file are shown and if you're like me and have a great number of
downloaded zip files, this is a real time saver.
Just installed both and they work great on my Win98SE system.
Note: Once you have installed "InfoTip Extension" you gain access to it
by right clicking on an empty space on your desktop and selecting
properties. You'll see the new "InfoTip Extension" tab that has been
added. Set up your preferences and that's it.
