I was recently given a Seagate STT28000 tape drive and five 4gb/8gb
tapes and before I consider installing this item I thought I'd try and
track down any information that might be available.

The drive itself appears to be in good condtion but came without any of
the installation materials (eg manuals/CDs).
Can anyone give any pointers to sources for drivers/softwear/etc?

Go to internet explorer, or whatever browser you use to explore the
internet / world wide web. (a.k.a. "The Web.")
Type in the address of a search engine. (Look carefully - you may have
to investigate where to type this in.)
Press "return" or select the "go" button (you may have to use your mouse
here - that's typically the strange "lump" next to your keyboard - also
known as a "pointing device"
Once the search engine has loaded, look for a space where you are
encouraged to enter a search topic
Type in "STT28000"
Again, press "enter" although you may have to look for a button that
says "go" or "search" (perhaps "attaboy"?) and use your mouse / pointing
device once again.
Look at the results that fill the page when it loads again.

Browse through these results (again, you will probably have to pick up
your mouse and click on the "link")

If you managed to get to this stage, you may even be able to find out
some information about the "STT28000" drive.

How on earth you plan to use this device - you may have to pay for an
engineer to come out and assist you. Once you have the relevant data on
the item, of course.
