Information needed on Repository Folder Contents

Can any one explain the contents in "C:\Windows\System32\WBEM\Repository\FS" folder? There are four files as follows
#1. INDEX.BT
#2. INDEX.MA
#3. OBJECTS.DAT
#4. OBJECTS.MA

What do these files contain? The contents has anything to do with the login information of Internet sites

I want to know because, recently, on reading an article at the MS Knowledge Base, I deleted the contents of Repository Folder. Since then, I'm unable to login to my webmail accounts in Netscape and MSN Hotmail. If they do contain such information, I wish to recover those files

I do not think so. The procedure that you described is recommended for
the case that the WMI does no longer work well and there is no
recommendation to save Internet login data before
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=319101).
WMI has nothing to do with the Internet: "WMI publishes information,
configures device settings, and supplies event notification from
device drivers. WMI is part of the Win32® Driver Model (WDM)
architecture; however, it has broad utility and can be used with other
types of drivers as well (such as SCSI and NDIS)." (Microsoft Hardware
White Paper: Windows Management Instrumentation).

I'm sure that I deleted the Repository folder after reading the above article only. I did it because, sorry for not mentioning it earlier, I was unable to start Windows Management Instrumentation service and approached Kelly for help. At that time I didn't know anything about WMI, but requested her help for restoring "System Information" application (in Start > Accessories > System Tools). That was the beginning of my journey into IT technology, undertaken in order to put my system back to normal. It looks I travelled too far to be able to find my way back home?

Any how Kelly has put it to working order, but my (1) System Restore is not functioning; (2) am not able to login to Netscape and MSN, whereas am able to login to Yahoo! I seem to have lot of problems and don't know where to start. You think I should list ALL my problems first

Would be much obliged for your guidance

I would start with a repair reinstallation of Windows: "How to Perform
an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP"
(http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315341).
 
The problem is, mine is IBM preloaded OS. No OEM CD is given with the computer, because, the OS is loaded into a secure corner of the harddisk, which I can reload. But the problem is there's no repairing part in it. I can only reload, and by that losing all my data.

This is "by design". Ask IBM for if you can get a true Windows-CD for
your computer or buy a full version in your local software store.
