information inside windows fill partial screen

R

Rick

Hi

I have been experiencing problems on random pages were the internet explorer
window is regular size but the information inside only fills about the
center half of the screen leaving a large empty space on both sides of the
information. It's like the display page is set to small

Is there a way to enlarge this as it should be? I am running SP2

Hi Rick :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Webpage view too small - won't fill screen

Many pages are hard coded for an 800 pixel wide display and won't display
any wider. Have you tried View | Text Size?

See http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#new_window_max and possibly
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers2.htm#window_small

also..........

From: http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/offpos.htm

Remove any 'Auto-hide' option for the Windows taskbar and while the window
is maximized, resize the taskbar then return it to the desired size. This is
to try to make Windows re-calculate the window size and boundaries.

If no joy, run regedit and remove these registry key values:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects

Then reboot.

or..................

Window Display too small
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#new_window_max
and possibly
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers2.htm#window_small

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

If your screen resolution is greater than 800 x 600, it is probably the
coding on the page.

Thanks I will give it a go. Just as a note I have selected the text size to
large.

Mozilla foxfire browser allows me the enlarge the text until the screen is
filled properly.

Thanks again
