Information Bar in Internet Explorer

I recently installed the SP2 update on my machine, Since I already had a good
firewall program installed, as well as a good anti-virus program, I didn't
really see any advantage in having SP2 installed. So at least for the present
time, I removed it. I wish microsoft would decide to release the information
bar for the internet explorer browser as a separate download. I enjoyed using
that part of the SP2 update.

Lucky Strike,
I'm sorry you feel that I'm " Picky-Picky ", my thought is that we are
supposed to enjoy using microsoft products aren't we ? The internet explorer
browser lags behind some other browser products that are currently available,
such as mozilla firefox. That browser has some nice functions such as tabbed
browsing, and a great popup blocker built in. Instead of using a different
browser...which I have, it would be nice if microsoft added some features
such as the information bar that I had mentioned previously. Some added
features to the browser would make it 'fun' again, and keep people from
switching to other browsers as they are right now. Have a great day !

Just a ribbing "mrckmn". :-)

It doesn't really matter what *I* think, does it? You can choose what you
like... this is still America. You have many Browsers from which to choose.
The notion that "we are supposed to enjoy MS products" takes a back seat to
plain enjoyment, however or from wherever one derives it. IMHO

BTW, I also use FireFox. But maybe you should read here:

For 9x/NT/2K/XP. MyIE, which might pass for a new browser, is better
described as a new shell (with added functionality) for Internet Explorer.
Added features include a tabbed interface for multiple pages, built-in
pop-up blocking, and horizontal and vertical tiling of multiple pages (this
rocks!).

And here:

Another Great IE Shell Enhancer...
Crazy Browser ver. 1.0.5 For 9x/NT/2K/XP. Like MyIE, a new shell (with added
functionality) for Internet Explorer. Requires IE4 or later installed.
Tabbed interface for multiple pages, built-in pop-up blocking, excellent
language translation

LuckyStrike,
Nice to hear back from you, glad to hear you were just " ribbing " me a
little bit. I also have tried some different ' IE shell ' browsers,
namely..avant browser. I found it to be somewhat better than some of the
other shell browsers. Of course everyone has different tastes. I enjoy using
the firefox browser, but from time to time I still run across some pages that
don't display properly. That just goes to show there's nothing perfect in
this world. The only reason I brought up the information bar in here was to
make my surfing the net with the 'real' internet explorer more enjoyable.
While I had SP2 installed..the information bar seemed to work pretty well.
Thanks

You are welcome mrckmn. :-) Glad you could take my little "jab". It was
meant in good spirit, and I think I added a "smile" or a <VBG - very big
grin> or something. :-D

As you've said, nothing does everything. I haven't had use (or experience)
with SP2, and the information bar. I'm still running a very reliable and
*fast* W98SE setup, (Works for me.<s>) so it is unlikely I would be able to
ever see the pros or cons of it. I didn't know of the Avant Shell. See?
There's even more than I suspected or knew of. <G> I might see what it's
about now.... always something, eh? :-)

Carry on...
