Hi Henry:
The first thing you need to do is to stop posting to newsgroups until you
have created a phony address for newsgroup posts. Also, since you already
have been using your real email address in newsgroup posts (thus telling the
spam world where you are), you should remove that address and create a new
one. Then NEVER use that new address in a newsgroup post.
To create a new email address, coordinate and set up the new address with
your ISP (often you can do this online). Then go into Outlook Express and
click on TOOLS / ACCOUNTS / MAIL / ADD and fill in the blanks for the new
address.
To create a new (and phony) email address for posting to newsgroups, go into
Outlook Express and click on TOOLS / ACCOUNTS / NEWS / ADD and create a
phony one, such as footballis@gud , or any other fake address you can dream
up. Coordinating with your ISP is not required.
In addition to these steps, it is also very important to keep your antivirus
and antispyware software updated, and run them several times a week. My
favorites (which are free) are AVG 6.0 from Grisoft (antivirus) and AdAware
from Lavasoft (antispyware).
