Info on Outlook/Newsgroups

Hi All,

Im New to Outlook/Newsgroups and interested in MS excel based ones. I have
outlook express 6 in Home and at work.

I have added the Excel newsgroup to my oulook and I have a couple of
questions :-

1. Can one download the body of the messages along with the headers and read
it offline. Because when Im working in office and access the newsgroup Iam
able to do it any time thru Lan connection. But when I access from Home I
want to download meesages and read offline. But when I click on a particula
header it I get a writeup in the screen saying page cannot be displayed or
something similar. Are newsgroups meant to be accessed only when one is
online. If no, please tell how to configure for offline access of both body
of the message and header so that I can read messages offline.

2. Is it possible for one to download all the meassges/headers within the
group in one go. In Tools There is an option "Get next 300 headers". I want
to go thru all the messages in the Excel Newsgroup and rather than pressing
on this button again and again I want to download all the messages in one
go. If it possible please guide me.

3. If 1 and 2 are possible please tell me how I can transfer the contents of
downloaded messages/headers from one computer to another. Which folder would
have the files I need to copy for this.

4. I have added microsoft.public.excel group to my outlook by using
msnews.microsoft.com as NNTP server. I ahev2 questions based on this :-

a) Is the microsoft.public.excel. group in Google's group's website
have more messages the msnews.microsoft.com site.

b) What is the NNTP address of Goggle's group site so that I can add
Google's group ( Microsoft.public.excel and other groups of my interest)

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from
the Office family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting
in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this
group try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the
source for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

It's the same group - though Google may have a deeper archive of old posts
since that's what they do.

I don't know if Google offers NNTP access to their site; it's probably
only accessible thru their web interface.
 
#1 on the the screen where the NGs are listed click "settings" set it to download messages.

#2 remove the checkmark in front of "get next xxxx headers" all messages will then be downloaded.
