This problem does not occur on all USB 2.0.
For your info:
After installing SP1 from the disk and restarting, my computer no longer
recognized and USB 2.0 device.
After spending 1 1/2 hr on the phone with Microsoft and them taking me
through I don't know how many things.
We discovered, in order for your computer to recognize USB 2.0, first you
have to re-install your USB 2.0 drive and then you have to unplug all
devices that are accessing your USB 2.0 and Restart your computer. Then you
plug each item back in one at a time and let your computer recognize them.
Wait until you get the msg that tells you the item it now installed and
ready for use. Then plug another one in.

Hope this keeps someone from having to spend 1 1/2 hour on the telephone
with Microsoft. Luckily they did all this and waved the charge.

I'm actually going to say it: Thank You Microsoft

Just a question, is your USB on the motherboard or an add-in
card? What make in either case?

Thanks. It seems that getting driver updates for PCI cards
is more complicated than built-in USB. My USB is 2.0
on-board the Intel mobo and the drivers are in the BIOS.
Your PCI drivers are in the hard drive and have to load at
each boot. I wonder if that is part of the problem?

Does IOGEAR have a firmware update for the card? It might
be worth a look.
