Inexpensive External Disk Arrays?

Hello,

I hope this is the best group to post this question...

Does anybody know of an inexpensive external device that would allow me to
build a "massive" disk array that would connect to my PC via firewire
connection?
I would like to be able to put about 2000Gb of data on-line to store my
massive
collection of music and videos. I would like to be able to build this using
standard
disk drives in an array that behaves like a single external drive. The idea
would be
to use ten 200Gb drives - is this even possible? I understand that
Windows-XP
is supposed to be able to handle hypothetical disk drives of enormous
size...

Thanks,

- Gordon

Why not use any PC and build yourself a server, sharing those files via
NFS and/or SMB, via 100MHz ethernet. I'm not sure what the limit on IDE
drives is, but I think you might be able to add a couple of Promise IDE
cards on PCI bus. Why does this have to be connected with firewire?
