When I install IIS, it creates a folder with a bunch of files. Do I need

This'd be best for another group, perhaps one related to IIS.
However, the files that are in the wwwroot are mainly "getting started"
files, and I believe there are also some vDirs that have some samples, help,
or other scripts in them. There might be remote admin (but I think that's a
separate IIS site, on a different port).
Browse your machine and you'll see what it is.
You can delete them and IIS will still work.
