Hello,

I have a couple of users trying to run a report from a website which is
supposed to produce a Excel Spreadsheet. When they click on "run" you can see
a screen appear for a second and then disappear. I have turned off all of the
pop-up blockers but it still behaves as if a pop-up blocker is turned on.

I am pretty sure that it is some setting in IE6 because I installed Firefox
as a temporary solution. The report ran and produced a Excel spreadsheet.

Hi,
Keep looking for a third-party pop-up blocker.

This sounds, specifically, like the work of Ad-aware Pro- Adwatch, the
"Block pop-ups" feature. It sometimes allows a window to open momentarily
before closing it.

Hope this helps,
Don

Hello Matt,

Thank you for posting in newsgroup.

According to the description, the issue you're experiencing is: you create
Excel Spreadsheet when you click the button in IE6, the new popup Window
comes up blank and then disappears. If I have any misunderstanding, please
feel free to let me know.

Based on the research, here is some information which may be helpful for
you.

Analysis and Suggestions:
==========================

The default security feature of IE6 that it will not allow "Automatic
prompting for File downloads", the Open Excel Spreadsheet may be blocked by
the default security settings.

We may try adding the website that you browse to the trusted Site of the
Internet Security Option, and then changed the settings for the "Automatic
prompting for the file downloads" to "Enable". You may add the website to
the "Trusted site" zone and then enable the Prompting for the file
downloads under "Custom Level".

Please make sure that the Pop-Up blocker has been turned off.

After that, please check if the issue will re-occur.

Hope the information will be helpful for you.

Thanks.
