Indexer matter

Each time I start Vista and it's fully started, the gadget showing the cpu
usage tells me the CPU is using 50%. I first let this going for many hour
and it kept on going. I had some rendering to do, so I close that process
thru the program manager.
Question is, is this indexer really necessary?
Can I turn it off for good?
If yes, how?, i didnt find where.
Beside this, everythings run fine.
Some things to manage a little differently that's it.
My lower Vista indice is 5.6, 4 gig of ram, intel Core 2 at 2.13ghz, GForce
7600GT, 256 DDR3/ram
Works great.
I'm playing Halo 2 for Vista, wow.

Thanks for any answers.

Hello,

I was annoyed too, but I didn't turn it off until it had finished indexing all my files.
If you want to turn it off, you could try going to Windows Services (Run -> services.msc) -> Windows Search.
Click "Stop" and choose "Disabled".

Greetings,
