Index Server

Can somepne please help.
I've already got an Index server created on my server, I
just need to know how to create a catalog that will point
to the right folder. I have two search forms on my web and
I need both of them accessing different folders. Can I do
this on my computer or do I have to get someone to do this
on the server? Also if someone could tell me the right
steps how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.
