Are you publishing using the FP Server Extensions? During the publishing
process, FP will talk to the server and find out what it's default filenames
are. It should be changing to accomodate that during the publish process.
For example, default.htm is the more common default filename on a windows
server. During publishing, FP should identify that default.htm is not in the
server's default filename list and change it to index.htm. This only happens
when you publish to the web server using the FP Server Extensions. If you
publish by FTP you won't get this. Also, if you publish via FTP and you are
using something like the Discussion Template then you will corrupt the web
server's extensions and need to have them removed and re-installed.
In essence, FP is going to create what it sees as a standard default
filename and attempt to adapt it during publishing because otherwise, it's
pointless since every web server can have it's own idea of a default
filename.
Hope this helps,
