I don't know if I got this software from a post here or somewhere else
but it's replaced several programs I used to use. It has a quicknote, a
text editor, a comprehensive reminder component, and tabbed,
alphabetical indexing.
"Index is designed to help you organize all your notes, phone numbers,
addresses, and other things that you want to remember into one simple
program that is similar to an index card file. Just type anything you
want to remember into the text box and when you close the program, your
note is saved. Index and Quick Notes now have the ability to launch
URL's and your Email program from within the program."

If anyone else has tried it, I wonder what you think of it.

745 Kb download. File date 22th Jan. 2002, so it appears to be
abandonware.

dansheen, thanks for the good words for my program. I wrote the
program for my own use because I considered most of the available
similar programs too complicated. Especially the Reminder programs. I
would be lost without some way to remember things and Index fills the
need very nicely.

I found it so useful that I decided to make it available for other
users.

Index pretty much is abandonware since I am (or was, I don't do any
programming anymore) a self taught programmer and I have done about
all I could do with it. But I do still answer questions and offer
suggestions to anyone who asks for help with the program.

Or, if you've decided you want it already, and don't want to jump through
Winsite hoops...

I checked it out. It's pretty cool! It's not whompingly full featured,
but it's not supposed to be. I like the "always on top" icon and the
taskbar resident icon. Lots of tabs, reminders, to do, notes.
Everything works. www. file: and mailto: links become active in tabs,
which is nice.

Downside. I wish the search checked notes and reminders. It doesn't
drag and drop files, you have to enter them manually. No import function.

I could see this as being a sort of quick and dirty ACT! or project
manager organizer, for people who don't want to mess with learning new
software.

I may list this.

"No kidding."
