I'm running XP Pro SP1 with drives configured as NTFS.
index.dat places a run parameter in the "RunOnce" key of the registry to
execute a batch file it creates in the root directory. Most index.dat
files are deleted as expected; however, there are 6-7 files that cannot be
deleted when Windows boots.
It is suggested that one should boot into DOS mode using a floppy, but I
don't think the NTFS drive can be read when doing that. Booting into XP
with a command prompt also does not work for the batch file.
Any ideas as to how to approach the problem?
TIA
