In the past I was able to set up a form that would
automatically increment a number "attached" to text,
i.e., Book-001, Book-002....... It worked fine in
earlier versions of access (<2002), but I can't get it to
work in 2002. There is a knowledge base article on how
to do it in 97, 2000, etc., but it does not work for 2002.
What I would like is that when you click on "enter new
record", that it automatically gives you a new record
number, such as the example above, i.e, Book-003.....
If I use the code from 97 or 2000 I just get errors, and
have a heck of a time getting 2002 to do this.
Any help would be really appreciated.
