Please Help,
I want to add counter to my template. Every time I open the template the counter will increase by one. When I am done. The template will be saved as a different document.
Could someone explain how to do this?

Hi, Dennis,

See http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MacrosVBA/NumberDocs.htm for a macro
to do the numbering.

Just as a caution: You should *not* "open the template" and then "save
the template as a document" -- that's not the way Word is intended to
work. You create the template once, and (unless you need to modify it
later) leave it alone. Then you use the File > New dialog to create a
new document *based on* the template. Unless you work this way, the
numbering macro won't work properly. Other templates, with or without
macros, should also be used the same way. For an introduction to the
theory and practice of templates, see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Customization/CreateATemplatePart1.htm
and
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Customization/CreateATemplatePart2.htm.
