Dear all,

I wish to increase timeout in IE6 beyond 60 minutes, for long running
reports.

Registry setting of receivetimeout as defined in q181050 does not apply
to IE6. What is the procedure to achieve this in IE6.

I will be grateful for your help.

Hi,

To be honest, I'm not sure exactly which timeout setting you wish to modify
to 60 min. (Or is that 60 seconds?)

**However, your post suggests that you know what you need to do, and simply need
help getting the right tools to do the job. If this is not the case, please
reply with more information BEFORE adjusting or downloading any of these
programs**.

Before continuing, ensure that the problem is indeed with Internet Explorer, and
not with any intermediary devices or processes (such as firewalls or routers).

So, and in light of that context, here's a neat freeware program that allows you
to adjust internal IE timeout values:

Also, consider the following resources. Depending on how you receive the report,
this may, or may not be helpful.

The following patch increases the DNS timeout values, and is available from the
following site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm on line 68, on the right site. The
direct link is:

If you have **any** questions or comments, please do not hesitate to ask,

Best regards,

Altrus
