Not sure if this is the proper forum to ask but if not maybe someone can
direct me to the proper place.
I have four computers connected to a wired (Netgear ) 4 port router.
(Two Win XP Home and two Win 98SE). All are working fine. I want to add
another computer at one of the (Win 98SE) locations. My question is,
what is the best (and easiest) way to do this? I think I want to connect
either a hub or a router to that computer`s Cat 5 terminal and connect
both the old and new computers to that hub or router. The new computer
Will have either XP Home or XP Pro. Is this a feasible solution and if
so what is the difference between using a hub or a router?

Adding another computer only requires a hub or switch. Those two
devices perform similar functions, but a switch can give better
network performance.

A typical home router, like your Netgear, has a built-in 4-port
switch. You can use a router as a switch only, bypassing its routing
and Internet sharing capabilities, if you disable its built-in DHCP
server and connect all of the computers to its LAN ports.
